  • Fort Hays Tech | Northwest Announces Fall 25 Semester Honors Lists

    Goodland, KS. (01/21/2026)  – Fort Hays Tech | Northwest in Goodland, KS has announced the names of full-time students who earned spots on the President’s and Dean’s honor lists for the 2025 Fall semester. Students on the President’s Honor List earned a perfect 4.0 grade point average, while students on the Dean’s Honor List earned a GPA between 3.5 and 3.99.

    Goodland, KS – [November 14, 2025] – Fort Hays Tech | Northwest is proud to announce a significant equipment donation from Wilkens Truck & Trailer, which has generously provided a semi-truck to support and expand the college’s Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Program.

    This donation will enhance hands-on training opportunities for students pursuing careers in the high-demand transportation and logistics industry. With this addition, Fort Hays Tech | Northwest can offer even more real-world driving experience, ensuring students are workforce-ready upon completing the program.

    “This donation from Wilkens Truck & Trailer is a tremendous investment in our students and in the future workforce of Northwest Kansas,” said President Dr. Corey Isbell. “Partnerships like this strengthen our region, open doors for learners, and ensure our CDL program continues to grow.”

  • Engineering Technology Haunted House Supports Genesis of Sherman County

    GOODLAND, KS – [November 14, 2025] –  Fort Hays Tech | Northwest’s Engineering Technology students transformed the Sherman County 4-H Animal Barn Building into a spine-chilling haunted house this October, welcoming the community for two nights of fun, frights, and fundraising. Admission to the event was either a $5 donation or five non-perishable food items, with 100% of proceeds going directly to Genesis of Sherman County to support local families in need.

    This annual event serves as both a fundraiser and a hands-on project for Engineering Technology students, who apply their creativity and technical skills to design lighting, sound effects, mechanical props, and immersive themed rooms.

    Community Impact

    This year’s haunted house raised:

    • $3700 in monetary donations, and
    • 500 boxes/cans of non-perishable food
