Program Overview


The Healthcare Specialist program prepares students for entry into multiple specializations in the healthcare industry. Starting with the basic entry-level courses and certifications, students will learn the essentials of: nutrition, medical terminology, clinical skills, anatomy/physiology, pharmacology, and microbiology. As students advance, they will gain exposure to the various fields within health care: therapeutic services, diagnostic services, informatics, support services, and biotech research and development.

Upon successful program completion, students will be able to:

1. Demonstrate clinical skills and patient care

2. Demonstrate infection control and safety practices

3. Demonstrate CPR, life support, and basic first aid skills

4. Differentiate between therapeutic, diagnostic, support, informatics, and biotech services
