Fort Hays Tech | Northwest is seeking qualified candidates for the Dean of Academic Advancement position. This position provides leadership and oversight to ensure the integrity, quality, and continuous improvement of academic programs. This position provides direct oversight of academic divisions and full-time and adjunct faculty through division chairs, who manage day-to-day faculty supervision. The Dean leads curriculum and assessment initiatives, supports grant, affiliation, and accreditation efforts, and works closely with the Vice President for Student and Academic Advancement to foster academic excellence and student success. The Dean also serves as the institution’s Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO) and Perkins Grant Coordinator, providing leadership for accreditation compliance and federal Perkins grant administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and mentor division chairs; provide strategic leadership to academic divisions and lead division and curriculum meetings
  • Analyze enrollment, retention, and completion data to inform academic decision-making, program improvement, and resource allocation
  • Collaborate with student services to strengthen student success initiatives, pathways, and completion strategies
  • Serve as Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO), coordinating accreditation reporting, compliance, communication with accrediting bodies, and institutional continuous improvement efforts
  • Serve as Perkins Grant Coordinator, overseeing planning, budgeting, implementation, compliance, and reporting for federal Perkins funding
  • Oversee program review processes, professional development, budgeting, and facility planning
  • Ensure accuracy of academic publications, handbooks, and syllabi
  • Maintain transfer equivalencies and articulation agreements
  • Maintain program and course approval processes
  • Partner with industry advisory committees to ensure curriculum relevance and alignment with workforce needs
  • Support development of new academic programs in response to regional workforce demand
  • Coordinate faculty in-service training and required documentation
  • Support and strengthen the institution’s affiliation with Fort Hays State University by advancing seamless transfer and pathway opportunities for students

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of higher education teaching experience
  • Experience with accreditation processes and/or grant administration preferred
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail, reliability, and integrity
