    We are a 10,000-acre farming operation located in the Burlington area, operating both irrigated and dryland acres. We are currently seeking a dependable and motivated Farm Hand / Agricultural Technician to join our team.

    We operate new John Deere equipment equipped with state-of-the-art technology, offering an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in modern production agriculture. This position would be a great fit for a recent graduate or an upcoming graduate looking to build a career in farming.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Operating and maintaining modern John Deere equipment

    • Assisting with planting, harvesting, irrigation, and general field operations

    • Performing routine maintenance and basic repairs

    • Supporting day-to-day farm operations as needed

    Qualifications:

    • Background or education in agriculture preferred

    • Experience with farm equipment and ag technology is a plus

    • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn

    • Ability to work long hours during peak seasons

    During the summer months, Adams Land and Cattle offers opportunities for individuals to assist on various projects throughout the feedyard. This would be a full-time position in our Maintenance department.

    This person will be responsible for:
    • Assisting with general maintenance, service, and repair of feedlot facilities and equipment.
    • Assisting with feedlot concrete projects, including, but not limited to setting concrete forms, placing concrete, and spreading, leveling, and smoothing concrete.
    • Maintaining and repairing feedlot fences and steel structures that sustain optimum cattle welfare and containment.
    • Operating large articulating trucks with a water configuration for dust control.
    • Performing mowing and other duties for weed control.
    • Operating transport vehicles to perform various duties.
    • Working effectively in a team environment to complete the necessary daily tasks.
    • Supporting other lot maintenance activities and projects, as assigned.

    Ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications:
    • Commitment to safety and quality culture.
    • Previous maintenance background in an agriculture-based company preferred, but not required.
    • Must work well in a team-oriented environment.

    Qualifications
    This position requires:
    • Ability and willingness to perform physical labor in an outdoor environment and in adverse weather conditions.
    • Exerting 50-100 pounds of force occasionally; 25-50 pounds of force frequently; 10-20 pounds of force constantly. Standing, sitting, walking, carrying and lifting/lowering, pushing/pulling, bending, twisting, climbing, reaching/handling/grasping and kneeling/crouching frequently; crawling and stairs occasionally.
    • Valid driver's license.

    Compensation Details:
    • $16 per hour
    • $500 scholarship
