AL 210 EMT I

This program is designed for individuals interested in providing medical care to patients in the pre-hospital setting. The program will provide the participant with opportunities to gain information, skills, and attitudes necessary for certification and practice as an EMT in Kansas.

AL211 EMT 2

This class is a continuation of EMT 1 and cannot be taken prior to EMT 1. After successful completion of the course, students will be able to set for the EMT certification exam.

*EMT I & II are co-requisites - enrolled at the same time, if you drop or withdraw from one, you do so for both - dates for drop and withdraw following academic calendar.

*Must be 17 to take the program and must be 18 to sit for the exam.  Exams must be taken within 12 months of program completion.

Tuition: 12 Credit Hours x $155 per Credit Hour - $1860

Additional Fees: (All testing fees are non-refundable.) (paid directly by the student to the vendor)

  • $104.00 practical testing fee. Required for each examination.
  • $80 for National Registry application. Required for initial examination and each additional attempt of the written. Payable to the National Registry of EMT.
  • $50.00 State Certification/Examination fee.

Classroom, Clinicals, & Internship:

All students will present themselves as appropriately dressed and exhibit professionalism at all times.

  1. School-issued uniform shirts
  2. Navy blue or black slacks with a black belt purchased by the student at the student's expense, black shoes or boots cleaned and polished, and black socks.
  3. Watch with a second hand or equivalent.
  4. Hair must be worn away from the face in a manner that does not interfere with vision or the provision of medical care.
  5. Hats are not to be worn indoors for class, lab, clinicals, or field internship.
  6. A plain black coat or a sweatshirt can be worn if there is NOTHING on it
 
*NOTE: We must have a minimum enrollment of 6 students and a maximum of 20 students to offer the course.  If we do not meet that threshold, students will be notified and asked if they want to be on a waiting list for the next semester.
