Duties
- Operate heavy machinery and farm equipment such as tractors, irrigation systems, and power tools to support planting, and harvesting activities.
- Perform equipment repairs and maintenance using hand tools, welding techniques, and basic mechanical knowledge to keep machinery in optimal working condition.
- Support crop growth by planting, watering via irrigation systems and harvesting.
- Assist with other various tasks to ensure safety protocols are followed and work is completed efficiently and safely.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, storage facilities, to promote a safe and organized environment.
- Follow safety procedures diligently during heavy lifting, operation of heavy equipment, or handling hazardous materials.
Requirements
Experience on a farm or agricultural setting is preferred.
Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience repairing farm machinery or equipment.
Ability to operate heavy equipment, power tools, and hand tools safely and effectively.
Familiarity with irrigation systems, and general farming techniques.
Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

We are seeking a Senior-level Diesel Mechanic to work within our experienced Shop team. An ideal candidate would have 8+ years experience as a heavy-duty diesel mechanic repairing a wide variety of diesel-powered engines, equipment, and trucks, including feed trucks.
This person will be responsible for:
- Supporting the Adams Land & Cattle safety program and exemplifying safety expectations.
- Independently troubleshooting, diagnosing, rebuilding, replacing, and completing all required repairs on a wide variety of diesel-powered engines, equipment, and trucks, including feed trucks.
- Using specialized tools, computer software, and advanced diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex problems across various diesel systems.
- Troubleshooting complex drivability problems, as well as malfunctions in engines, transmissions, suspensions, steering, exhausts, electrical and hydraulic systems
- Managing complex repairs efficiently using critical thinking skills to identify issues quickly and develop effective repair strategies.
- Performing repairs including but not limited to: engine rebuilds and complex overhauls, repairing/replacing transmissions and faulty components, including fuel systems, electrical systems and exhaust systems, and repairing other drivability issues.
- Working independently and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Communicating effectively with internal customers and team members to explain technical issues and provide updates on repair progress and recommendations.
- Building and maintaining strong external business relationships. Collaborating with external contract resources to accomplish repairs that are outsourced.
- Utilizing asset management software for repair documentation.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and OSHA regulations.
- Mentoring junior mechanics and coordinating with other team members to solve problems.
- Completing other duties, as assigned.
Ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications:
8+ years hands-on experience as a heavy-duty diesel mechanic required
Experience desired on the following types of equipment/engines: Kenworth/Western Star and Paccar/Cummins
Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master Technician or other equivalent certification desired.
Deep technical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and complex electrical systems.
Proficient in reading technical manuals and using diagnostic software.
Diagnostic and troubleshooting ability.
Independent analytical and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail.
Ability to read/understand technical and service manuals.
Ability to read wiring diagrams and test circuits.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Willingness to learn/complete ongoing training.
This position requires:
-Individual must be able to work in adverse conditions, if needed.

We are seeking a mechanic to work within our experienced Shop team. An ideal candidate would have demonstrated experience in repairing heavy equipment, vehicles, and other mechanical systems.
This person will be responsible for:
- Conducting quality repairs on all ALCC agriculture equipment, resulting in maximum functionality, reliability and longevity. Equipment types include, but are not limited to: feed and other trucks, heavy and construction equipment, tractors, loaders, skid steers, fork lifts, ATVs, mowers, vehicles, motors and generators.
- Troubleshooting reported problems on equipment and vehicles, diagnosing breakdowns, repairing, and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Inspecting equipment, vehicles, engines, transmissions, mechanical and electrical components, as well as computer and electronic systems and running diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues.
- Reporting status of repairs/assigned tasks at departmental shift start-up meetings.
- Supporting a culture of proactive repairs versus reactive.
- Supporting the preventative maintenance program by educating equipment operators on proper daily maintenance.
- Maintaining shop equipment, shop and parts crib work areas, parts crib inventory and shop tools in satisfactory condition.
- Identifying continuous improvement opportunities in work area.
- Collaborating with external contract resources to accomplish repairs that are outsourced. Building and maintaining strong external business relationships.

The ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications:
- Proven experience as a mechanic.
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and electrical components of equipment and vehicles.
- Aptitude in using various hand tools, precision measurement tools, and shop equipment.
- Ability to follow established procedures, read instructions, blueprints, auto cad drawings, etc.
- Working knowledge of diagnostic methods and systems.
- Very good problem-solving ability.
- Possess great attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects/work efforts.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience.
- Certification from a vocational school or completion of an apprenticeship is preferred

Our Equipment Utility Technician supports our operations through maintenance and upkeep of our fleet of equipment, as well as the delivery of fuel to various locations. We are looking for a team player with preventive maintenance experience, with an ideal candidate being a self-motivated and action-oriented individual.
This person will be responsible for:
• Supporting the Adams Land & Cattle Safety Program and exemplifying safety expectations.
• Safely operating equipment (e.g. fuel truck, water truck, tractors, pay loaders, mobile hospitals, trucks, and trailers).
• Completing on-time preventative (planned) maintenance of vehicles, equipment, and/or facilities (e.g. Mill).
• Applying lubricants to equipment/vehicle components.
• Operating a fuel truck to deliver fuel to various locations.
• Maintaining communication with areas on their fuel needs.
• Documenting and ensuring fuel delivery sheets are maintained with accuracy.
• Operating a large articulating truck with a water truck configuration for dust mitigation.
• Working closely with all areas of operations and communicating the work group’s plans to all affected areas/departments.
• Working effectively in a team environment to complete the necessary daily tasks.
• As time permits and/or when business needs arise, assist with other activities including, but not limited to:
o Maintaining, cleaning, washing, and disinfecting equipment and facilities.
o Assisting with the expedient and safe movement of equipment in and around washing facility.
Ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications:
• Commitment to safety and quality culture.
• General operation of equipment.
• Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components of equipment and vehicles.
• Experience as a preventative maintenance mechanic is a plus.
• Understanding fluids, appropriate application and replenishment quantities for engines and equipment/vehicles.
